Joel A. Hainsfurther

Joel A. Hainsfurther is an Analyst at Wanger Investment Management, Inc. His responsibilities include monitoring various portfolio positions in the Wanger Long Term Opportunity Fund (WLTOF), evaluating ideas for potential investments, and interfacing with investment professionals in order to expand distribution of WIM’s proprietary products.

Joel interned at WIM for approximately one year before joining the firm full time in June of 2009. He previously served as an Editorial Intern and Contributor at the Diplomatic Courier, a global affairs magazine published daily online and quarterly in print; his articles covered a wide variety of issues ranging from conflict resolution in Cyprus to the impact of the Israeli elections on the Middle East peace process.

Joel graduated cum laude from Lake Forest College with a B.A. in politics; he graduated with honors in the politics major, received distinction for his senior thesis, and was the 2009 recipient of the Solly A. Hartzo Award in Politics. Joel is actively involved with the JCC Maccabi games; he coached the Chicago Delegation’s tennis team in 2007 and 2008 and continues to assist the program.
