William R. Andersen
William R. Andersen, CFA is the Principal of Andersen Capital Management and Portfolio Manager of the Wanger Income and Growth Strategy.
Previously, Bill spent 17 years at Driehaus Capital Management where he served as Chief Investment Officer-International. He founded the firm’s international division in 1989 with $300,000 in assets under management which grew to over $2 billion. Bill was among the first US investors in Russia in 1994 and was a pioneering investor in emerging economies throughout Eastern Europe, Asia and Latin America. Bill was also in charge of overseeing the creation of an international analyst team and establishing Driehaus’ international small cap and emerging market funds, as well as several region specific funds.
Bill has appeared on Bloomberg television and CNN and has been featured in Barron’s and Worth Magazine. He has a B.A. in Economics from Stanford University; an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business; and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Bill is an advocate for improvement in school nutrition and has testified before the Illinois State Board of Education on the topic.
